Why DocklyOne People

Built for the Indian payroll month — and the audit after it.

DocklyOne People is enterprise HR and payroll, built for India. Six reasons it is built the way it is — and the gaps we are open about.

  1. 01

Statutory payroll that changes only through governance

PF/EPS, ESI, professional tax, LWF, TDS and gratuity are effective-dated rules — draft, scheduled, active, superseded — each with an amendment reason. When a state revises PT, you add a version; past runs keep the rule they used.

In the product: Rule history on every statutory component
  2. 02

    Maker-checker, with evidence

The person who prepares a payroll run cannot approve it. Bank and portal references are recorded against the run and verified by a second person. DocklyOne People never moves money or files on your behalf.

    In the product: payroll.run_submitted → payroll.run_approved
  3. 03

Tenant isolation and an audit trail you can show

Row-level security on every table, tested automatically on every change. Private document storage. An append-only audit trail and a read-only auditor role. Hosted in AWS Mumbai.

In the product: Auditor role · audit retention policy
  4. 04

India statutory depth, not a localisation layer

Professional tax by state and work location, LWF, minimum wage screening before payroll, tax declarations and full and final settlement — alongside CL/SL/EL starter policies, sandwich rule and encashment.

In the product: Minimum wage flags before the run, not after
  5. 05

Migration you can preview and undo

Move from Keka, greytHR, Zoho People / Payroll or spreadsheets with guided mapping. You approve a scope preview before anything imports, paused imports retry on their own, and an employee import can be rolled back.

In the product: Preview → approve → import → rollback if needed
  6. 06

    AI with clear limits

Ask HR AI answers personal questions from records you can already see, without a model, and how-to questions from our Help Center using Anthropic Claude — PII-scrubbed and cited. Autopilot is rule-based; a person decides.

In the product: No salary or identity data sent to a model
Candour

What we don't do yet.

An HR system holds salaries, IDs and bank details. You should know its limits before you sign, not after. If one of these is a hard requirement today, we will tell you in the first call.

We are also not yet SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified. Our security posture.

SSO / SAML
Single sign-on through your identity provider is not available yet, and neither is SCIM provisioning.
Public API
No public REST API or webhooks yet. Data moves in and out through imports and reports.
Payroll outside India
US, UK, Canada and Australia packs are on the roadmap, not in the product.
Native mobile app
Self-service is responsive web and works in a phone browser.
